Performances

Tulu İçözü attended at a very early age the ateliers of tenor Boldizsár Keönch, coloratura- soprano Magda Nádor, soprano Krisztina Laki, the famous Hungarian soprano Éva Marton and British countertenor Nicholas Clapton. Between 1999 and 2004, as contracted artist she performed in İstanbul State Opera and Ballet productions. She started her music education in 1988 with playing violing. Later on she started singing as mezzo-soprano at the age of 15. She has graduated from the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2001 and The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (2003-2007). After the graduation she applied to be a student of world-famous Hungarian tenor Gulyás Dénes to specialize in Opera Principal Branch which accepts applications from hundreds of students from all over the world where only three of them can be chosen. Tulu İçözü was one of the three succesful students who had been accepted to work with Gulyás Dénes Her International career started with her performing at the closing concert of International Majk Music Festival with Hungarian State Opera House Orchestra. Until this day she had performed with many acknowledged artist and also worked with numerous companies in the field of art. Next to many important ensembles, theatres and dance companies she had also performed with Prima awarded bow instruments ensemble “Accord Quartet” and Liszt Awarded Hungarian Pianist Király Csaba. She has been living in Budapest, Hungary since 2003. Within the last 14 years, Tulu İçözü had performed in the prominent theatre and concerts halls of Hungary and Budapest such as: International Merlin Theatre,
Trafó House of Contemporary Art, Liszt Museum Chamber Hall, French Institute,
Bartók Memorial House, Hungarian Radio Marble Hall and MÜPA- Palace of Arts – Glass Hall. In addition to her International concerts and performances, she has been working with a social responsibility project since 2014. She works with ArtMan Association productions (Budapest) to help people who are physically and mentally disabled and diagnosed with autism by music and dance therapy. She is the originator and the curator of the “Bartók and Saygun Encounters” which is an artistic dialogue and knowledge exchange event in the field of arts organized together by Hungary and Turkey. Her last concert with Tanini Trio "My Heart is Immersed in Love" held in Amsterdam, Concertgebouw. Concert is made possible Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Cultural Centre, Amsterdam, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkish Embassy in The Hague.
